Patricia A. Wendleton

BIO

Patricia A. Wendleton is a talented trial attorney with a diverse legal background and a wide range of skills and expertise. Her experience includes counseling clients on corporate and commercial transactional issues, including franchise agreements, general contracts, leases, and other issues arising in the day-to-day operations of various business ventures and companies. She has expertise in construction contracts, including their indemnity provisions, and in construction defect litigation.

Patricia served as in house General Counsel and Director of Human Resources from 2004 to 2009 for a private corporation. She is, therefore, well suited to advise employers in employment and labor law and to represent employees in labor matters.

Patricia has an in-depth legal knowledge of insurance contracts and coverage and direct experience in the insurance industry. Prior to entering law school, Ms. Wendleton handled hundreds of litigation files as an insurance adjuster. When she began practicing law in 1988, she worked in insurance defense for many years, representing insureds and insurance companies, as well as agents and brokers. With this combined understanding of insurance law and the insurance industry, she now represents insureds and insurance brokers and agents. Her comprehensive knowledge of the rights and duties of the parties involved in a insurance relationship enables her to successfully assist insureds and insurance brokers and agents, often resolving disputes without costly litigation. When a dispute cannot be resolved, she has the expertise and litigation experience to pursue litigation in a cost effective manner.

Patricia has tried cases involving everything from fraud and conversion to personal injury and property damage. She has won multiple trial verdicts in her clients’ favor.

Ms. Wendleton also has significant experience in drafting and arguing appellate briefs and has engaged in successful oral argument before the California First District Court of Appeal.

Client Testimonials

“I have retained the legal services of attorney Patricia Wendleton of Pratt & Associates on various cases and types of matters. Although Pat is very aware of controlling legal costs, she has aggressively pursued my cases, making arguments to the opposing attorney to persuade him or her of the merits of my case. In other words, she balances the need to aggressively pursue my case and control the legal costs.”

Sherry K.

“Rosalia Tapia was able to very quickly review the situation and provide me with a thorough understanding of my rights as well as explain the risks to me. Since legal matters are never an easy situation, this provided me with the comfort level I needed. I would highly recommend Rosalia and am thankful to her - we enjoy our backyard every day and could not have done it without her!”
